James N. Finklea, DDS
Dr. Finklea is a 1974 graduate of New York University College of Dentistry. He has been a member of the American Dental Association since 1970 and the Academy of General Dentistry since 1977. He completed a two year dental residency at the VA Hospitals in Iowa City, Iowa and St.Albans, Queens, New York. He remained at St. Albans, where he completed five more years of study in hospital dentistry and was appointed Chief of Dental Services. Upon receiving his license to practice in Connecticut, he opened his own office in Ridgefield, in 1982.
From 1983 to 1994, Dr, Finklea was on staff at Norwalk and Danbury Hospitals. He was awarded a Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1983 which represents 500 hours post doctoral studies. Currently he is enrolled in the Academy of General Dentistry to complete the requirements for Mastership, an additional 400 hours of continuing education and 200 hours of participation courses, in all phases of dentistry.
At present, Dr. Finklea's office staff of five includes his office manager, who has been with him for 21 years; his dental assistant, (23 years) and two hygienists, ranging from 10 to 23 years. Dr. Finklea and his staff are committed to excellence in every aspect of dental care and utilize the most advanced procedures, diagnostics and technology available in the dental profession.
Dr. Finklea is married and has two grown sons. He is active in his community and a longstanding member of Rotary, International.
